What is the right way and time to move this plant? I'm afraid that this plant is going to die. Please advise me. Thanks
I know that transplanting a Phaius orchid involves several steps, namely waiting for the plant to finish flowering, preparing a new pot that is 2-3 inches larger, removing the orchid, pruning wilted or unsightly roots, moving it, adding a mixture to the pot or planting medium, watering, and fertilizing, and giving it time to acclimate.
It would be best to report this orchid after it flowers, usually every 12 to 18 months. The plant can also be repotted when the roots are too crowded and pushing up or out of the pot.
